Shipping Policy

Delivery

We always aim to pack and ship your items with extreme care. At The Cambridge Hamper Company your experiences are very important to us.

We work in partnership with DHL, and where possible we deliver using our own team. We also aim to deliver to as many countries around the world, whenever this is possible and practical. We also check the results of our delivery service, because it is important your goods arrive in the same way we packed them. It is also important that your goods arrive when you expect them to, on time. We aim to deliver all hampers within 3 days of ordering. For larger order please allow more time.

Our carbon neutral status means we offset the carbon footprint of every gift we deliver - no matter what distance a package is travelling. The recipient's hamper will arrive in a recyclable outer box, and all inner packaging is either ECOFLO 100% Biodegradable Loose fill or 100% recyclable. We also offset by planting trees, and this information is continually updated on our website.

Our delivery services

England

We are currently only delivering to England. We will soon re-open worldwide deliveries.

If they're not home when a delivery is attempted

It is hard to predict when a recipient will be at home on a certain date without giving away the surprise, so there may be occasions when our delivery team attempts to deliver while he or she is not home.

If it is appropriate and safe to do so, the drivers will deliver the gift to a neighbour or leave it in a safe place, as instructed. We will attempt delivery for 3 days. Otherwise, it will be taken to the nearest local depot.

In the event that the delivery fails after 3 days, a card will be posted with instructions for picking up the parcel.

The recipient's mobile number can be entered during the checkout stage to receive text updates when the package is due to arrive and when it will be delivered - this will help to increase the chances that they will be at home when it’s supposed to be delivered to prevent multiple missed deliveries. However, if you want a surprise, you should put your mobile number instead.

Delivery to hospitals, universities and business & work addresses

When you buy a gift for someone and want it delivered to their hospital, university, college, military base, work address, etc., we ask you to be aware that the driver is only required to deliver to the address indicated on the label, not directly to the recipient wherever he or she may be within the building. For this reason, we are not liable for any delays caused.

If you are sending a gift to a person in the hospital to cheer them up, be sure to include their ward/number or department. This will make it easier for your treat to be delivered internally to the right recipient.

In the case of recipients living in a block of flats, the courier will need postal access to attempt delivery or to leave a card.

Unfortunately, we can't deliver to PO Boxes and BFPO addresses.

Telephone numbers

It would be greatly appreciated if you were able to provide the mobile number of the person receiving the hamper - especially to enable delivery notifications and deal with any delivery issues that might arise. It is not uncommon for delivery drivers to get lost in new build areas or remote areas where the postcode may not lead them to the delivery address.

In our experience, a first-time delivery success rate is greatly increased when the delivery driver has a telephone number he can call as and when required. This usually happens at the last minute, so spoiling the surprise is not a concern.
